It described me as a democratic socialist. I would describe that label as not quite accurate for my views.

Really, "democratic socialism" is nothing to do with liberal democracy, but more the direct alternative to authoritarian socialism, ie Marxist-Leninism.

While my economic views are relatively far to the left for someone in the US, I wouldn't say that I'm a full-blown socialist, even of the democratic variety.

Have you considered that your opposition to the label of socialism is that socialism has been made a dirty word through a century of propaganda against it in the west, particularly since the Red Scare in the US?

But having very strong authoritarian beliefs at the same time as very strong nationalist beliefs surely at the very least means you and a Nazi will find a lot of common ground to be chummy over, even when you might not personally consider yourself a Nazi because of thing like, say, personally not having any beef with Jews, in particular, which of course was a central issue of Adolf and his crew of madmen.

Political tests are not the be all end all, especially not one's with "Fascist capitalism" as a form of classification. Unless it was asking questions about race and whether or not you agree that the Nordic race should dominate the world.

Political tests are not the be all end all, especially not one's with "Fascist capitalism" as a form of classification. Unless it was asking questions about race and whether or not you agree that the Nordic race should dominate the world.

As much as we like to think otherwise, the Nazis did have other policies and outlooks than the race war - which is, indeed, how actual white nationalists and neo-Nazis like to pretend they're not racists itching for the next race war, and to try and legitimise their awful beliefs.

If I, someone who identifies as a flavour of socialist who rejects Soviet-style authoritarian socialism, had flashed up as "Nazi" then obviously we could shout about how ridiculously off-base the classifications are.

With friends IRL and people ITT, their classifications are logical to within what I understand their beliefs to be.
"Democratic socialist", what I resulted with, is definitely a reasonable classification of myself, as while I have great synpathies to anarchist forms of socialism, I see the need for a democratic socialist state to bridge the gap between today and an anarchist society. This belief in prioritising the rational over the idealistic obviously coloured my answers and classified me a "democratic socialist", and not a communist/anarchist.

It depends on how much of what the Nazis believed in that they agree with. I don't see it as completely ridiculous for someone to get those results but find the Holocaust detestable, which would likely just make them a fascist.

Also, I took the test again, and I'm (still) a social liberal. Not the specific wording I'd use to describe myself, but it's close enough.
