I got Liberalism.
"what I believe is like a box, and we’re taking the energy of our thinking and putting into a box of beliefs, pretending that we’re thinking...I’ve gone through most of my life not believing anything. Either I know or I don’t know, or I think." - John Trudell

Basically, the test is rather similar to the Political Compass (even "borrowing" a number of questions from it), but ranks your stance on eight opposing values to match you to a political ideology, rather than just plotting you on a quadrant.

Here is mine:

https://8values.github.io/results.html? ... 1.1&s=75.2

In a "shocking" turn of events, I'm a Slight Nationalist-Centrist that leans left in terms of the Economy: https://8values.github.io/results.html? ... 0.4&s=50.2

I know why I'm leaning left - I believe that everyone should have access to quality education and that the industries that have to deal with the Tragedy of the Commons should be publicly owned. In terms of diplomatic - I'm leaning towards nationalism, because I believe that it is the president's duty to serve his nation's needs, not the World's.

I've never been marked as very progressive, but when that axis is measured against tradition that changes.

Libertarian. Not surprised. I used to be a left leaning Libertarian, but the reading 1984 by George Orwell has rocked my world. I may have to take it again.

Why would that move you away from left-libertarianism?
1984 was mainly against Totalitarianism in general regardless of spectrum.

Orwell was also a well known Democratic Socialist.

Seems legit.

I wonder how much in these tests where you live affects on responses on "diplomacy/military might" related questions, or if people answer to them pretending that they live in country which is powerful enough to aggressively throw military might around the globe, if they actually live in one of the smaller countries.

Yeah, that's kind of a major factor, I would imagine, in how you answer those kinds of things.

In general, the culture we grow up in probably helps to shape how we see these kinds of questions and if we see them as political and debatable or simply just a way of life.

Libertarian Socialism.

The one thing that surprised me when I was taking the test is how strongly I still feel about many of the questions. I had been under the impression that I had mellowed over the decades... but then again, it might just have been the way they were phrased.
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

Same issue as with all political tests, I found myself picking netural more often than not because the question contained more nuance than the answers allowed.

I completely found the same thing. Every second or third answer was neutral.

I'm starting to see a trend where everyone who leans towards Markets economically is also more Nationalist diplomacy-wise, but the reverse generally isn't true.
