Drafted into the military. What field do you choose?

Two pairs of two words:

(1) Counterbattery fire.
(2) Forward observer.

People really need to understand in a conventional war, there's no such thing as a safe occupation. Sure, the modern military may be analogous to a spear, with a small sharp tip supported by a long wooden shaft. But much of the operational level of warfare is precisely about attacking that support echelon.

Which is why I'd rather be in the thick of it at the tip instead of the rear.

Also, judging from that one Band of Brothers episode in the forest, being a combat medic sounds like the worst job of them all. I don't see the appeal of going to actively seek out people who have been blown to bits.

It is about as difficult as getting a masters in physics while skipping the undergrad portion. Source I was Sat com in the Army. And my brother has a masters in physics.

Combat medics now carry rifles and are expect to be soldiers first. Saving people's lives comes later after the enemy has been defeated.

If it makes you feel better we had this one guy who lied constantly at Vincent hall. So we convinced him that he was selected for the 1C 1A program in flight satellite repair.
He told his family he was going to get to go to space. It was funny. Until he attempted suicide after the truth came out.

Depends on how bad. Can you use glasses or contacts to see 20/20? If so you're most likely ok. I'd ask a recruiter though

Yes. You're vision needs to be correctable to 20/20. You're vision doesn't need to be 20/20, though it can't be less than 20/70, it just has to be correctable

If your vision is way beyond then you won't be drafted at all. You'll be DQ'd
