Navy UAV pilot.
The way things are going, it won't be long where crew serviced aircraft will give way to remote fighters.

I build robots, so likely anything to do with that. Since I deal with prosthesis I would likely be working in medical stuff here in the US.

People really need to understand in a conventional war, there's no such thing as a safe occupation. Sure, the modern military may be analogous to a spear, with a small sharp tip supported by a long wooden shaft. But much of the operational level of warfare is precisely about attacking that support echelon.

I know this is sarcastic but that actually is a possibility. There are bots right now intended to help people stand and move should they be unable to do so themselves. These can pretty easily be turned into exosuits. It would be a bit harder to make them actual droids rather then controlled by humans but it is a possibility.

Bah. Just remove the brains from fallen soldiers and wire them directly into the droid. Easy peasy.

Paramedic would be good. I get to save lives instead of taking them and I have a good field to go into if I survive the combat.

People I admire chose to empty bedpans and clean toilets. They were pacifists and would not fight. Sometimes they were sent with the medics to the front lines, but they would not carry any weapons. Their fellow soldiers beat and cursed them. Some places honor WWII veterans, and my cobelievers do too, but they honor those who chose to change bed pans.

... just like to point out that CBRE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive) Defence sometimes falls under combat engineer's job scope. Sooooo, you *might* well end up dying in a worse way. Just saying. At least bridge-laying is usually not manual these days.

Oh, then there's demolitions. And demolitions screw-ups.

If I have to enlist, I suppose manning the anti-aircraft guns, in case if the enemy does attack Canada proper. Failing that, infantry would do.

So where would I as a robotics engineer (and more specifically one who works in prosthesis) work. Would I end up in combat or more likely working to improve current prosthesis to help veterans?
