Same. If I can't get at least 4 hours, I'll just not sleep at all.

Four hours of sleep can be done when the situation demands it, but six hours is better. More than six hours is preferable, though.

I can't imagine you sleeping any other way than hanging upside down from a cave.

Tropical rains are rather intense. Not that I ever personally experienced them, but I remember an old Discovery Channel documentary about the Vietnam war which featured footage of an American helicopter that tried to go airborne, but the machine couldn't escape from the mud it got stuck in. Granted, Vietnam is quite different from Singapore. A whole other corner of Asia, too.

Flash floods.

Basically, we seem to almost always be experiencing those things in recent times.

Or maybe the media is more sensationalist now than I thought it was, either one.

Well, it's roughly in the same one sort of; we're in the same geopolitical region, for one.

I always wondered. Does the ground get really clean after a flood like that?

Why is my favorite stuff on Facebook the click bait articles. "20 horrible tinder datez" I am tuere.
The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

I will most likely do it soon/in two hours.

I also looked up the problem and feel a little better overall/a lot better right now because it no longer feels like this imminent confirmation that whatever bullshit thought I had in my head was actually correct in any way or that I legitimately believed it to be the case as a person...

Maybe I should really fucking bring this up with my psychologist the next time I'm able to see her, which judging from how the last time I booked an appointment, she was only available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, both days in which I was occupied for the afternoon, is going to be never and I'm fucked.

I really wish I was joking right now. I sound real fuckin' stupid, probably, but I'm legit curious.

Not generally. The excessive amounts of water lying on the ground tend to pick up dirt and sediment and then deposit it back in new places when the flood waters recede. It's worse if the flood waters come from an overflowing river, since river water contains a lot of detritus anyway. Floods make things dirty, basically.

Basically, yeah.

If the water could all be channelled in a certain way, then yeah it might be possible to clean up all the debris, but you'd have to be excessively calculative about where the water went and really, you'd just be spending more than if you just cleaned it yourself.

Quadratic formula is easy peasy, and reasonably useful if you're ever modelling curves.

I'm still trying to figure out what practical real life uses it has. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out if I need that for a career in meteorology...Maybe to find how long it takes a raindrop to reach the ground?
