Well, I know, it just gets really annoying when your algebra teacher has been giving you worksheet after worksheet on the quadratci formula for the past month...

Isn't this the third time the "you need this math stuff for the career path you want to go down" back and forth has come up in here in recent memory?

I didn't say it was hard or complex, I just said that it's annoying when you have a month's worth of worksheets, quizzes, and tests that all deal with the same equation. It's easy for me, it's just annoying and takes forever. Especially if you have to keep the damned radicand, and not turn it into a decimal...

That's what I meant. It's just a formula. No point in making you repeat it over and over.

If you have an equation that looks like this:
a(x2)+bx+c=0
and a, b, and c are numbers you know, and x is a number you don't, you can substitute a, b, and c into the equation
(-b±√b2-4ac)/2a to get the possible values for x.
For example, if you had x2+5x+6=0, the possible values for x could be found by using the equation
(-5±√(52-4*1*6))/2*1 which gives you the numbers -2 and -3 as the possible values for x. Is that any clearer?

The teacher thinks I and everyone else in my class needs special help on this stuff. It's Algebra 2 Semester 1, when It's Semester 2 for everything else. I got put in there because my first algebra 2 teacher from this year recommended it for me, since my grades were dropping in that class. Plus everyone in that class tries to act like they're from the ghetto, when my school and everyone in there lives in glorious suburbia with middle-class/rich families.
