Debate on Abrahamic Religions (split from Paris Attacks Thread)

Postby Soyouso » Thu Apr 20, 2017 3:46 pm

God damn it Isis. What makes them think blowing people up and shooting people will make them want to convert to Islam? It just makes us all paranoid.

It's so immature, the terrorists are like, "Oh, these people don't agree with me. Well instead of bringing up evidence of my god's existence or showing people the good side of life in my religion, I'm going to kill and rape their people until they submit. Then everyone will like my opinion!" Do they not realize this is just making people afraid of their belief, and therefore as soon as they escape Isis controlled areas they will likely want to convert to something else?

I don't think a muslim would convert to something else after escaping an ISIS controlled area. If they were, I bet it would be denouncing religion altogether and becoming an atheist.

True, that would make sense. Christianity also seems to somewhat common among people who leave Islam because of fear of extremists.

No we don't.
Islam is like a spinoff of Christianity. Muslims believe Jesus was just a human prophet, we believe Jesus is the Son of God. The Bible says anyone who denies Jesus as the Son of God is an Anti Christ, so Christians view Muhammad as an Anti Christ while Muslims believe he was just a normal prophet who was spreading Allah's messages. Allah doesn't act like our version of God, Allah actually acts like Christianity's Satan to be honest. Allah says many things are okay that God says are not okay. Islam and Christianity have completely different views on God, hence why we technically do not have the same God and why the religions experience so much conflict.

When I say Anti Christ, I refer to it as a general noun, not a name noun. Anyone who denies Christ is the Son of God is considered an Anti Christ, but the Anti Christ, as in, the one person, the big one, we don't know who that is yet.

Muslims claim they added onto the Bible, but Christians do not believe that at all.
You know demons shapeshift, right? Us Christians believe that was a demon talking to him. That was not Gabriel, Gabriel does not "press people until they think it was death". Muhammad actually was under the impression he was possessed by demons and tried to kill himself over it multiple times, it was someone else who said it was from Allah.
Jesus said he was the Son of God. If Muslims say he is just a normal man, they do not believe in what Jesus said, only their own version. He said MULTIPLE TIMES "I am the Son of God", and everyone around Jesus took it that way. If they were wrong about him being divine, Jesus would have told them to stop bowing to him and saying it. Therefore, divinity in the flesh according to the Bible. Hence why it is considered a different religion. We believe Jesus was ressurected. He's still alive for us. Muslims believe he just died.

They do believe he was killed, that's why they believe Jesus was only a prophet.
Because of the fact that the Christian idea of the Trinity basically said Jesus was God and God was Jesus, and then Jesus dying disproved that for them because "you can't have a dead god."

No, Muslims believe that Christ was assumed into Heaven prior to his crucifixion, and that someone else (some Muslim traditions hold Judas Iscariot) was made to look like him and was crucified in His place. They also believe that Christ will return at the end of time to lead Allah's armies and to convert the Christians to Islam.

Depends what you mean. I would say Muslims believe in the same God, insofar as they believe in the Father Almighty, but they do not believe in the fullness of the One God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Trinity, One in Essence, and Undivided.

That is failed logic and not the view of the Church as a whole. Sorry but Islam does believe in the God of Abraham and it is an Abrahamic Religion. They do not believe in a different God than Christianity and Judaism.

The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Same derivation. Islam is most definitely an unlicensed sequel spin off to Christianity at the very least. Christianity is the same thing to Judaism, which has it's origins within a melange of different Canaanite religious ideas. Certain elements were most definitely appropriated from Babylonian mythology, with other bits stuck in from here and there, with the most major new addition being monotheism.
