Cool. DHS will henceforth begin the indefinite detention of all people caught without their seatbelts on a national level, either until everyone wears a seatbelt or everyone is in jail.

The unfortunate fact is the moralists like you would rather subject their own domestic people to this sort of thing instead foreigners outside this example. Alas, if only you knew the principle "don't shit where you eat".

Pathetic. Life in prison would be a net gain for society so we don't have to hear this swill.

It's not much of a strawman. You said life imprisonment for a nonviolent crime such as repeated public drinking. It's not a stretch to claim you should also receive that for a similarly nonviolent crime such as not following road rules.

If that's it, then so be it. If it's the law, it's the law. I would make sure to wear a seatbelt more. Crime deference is a side effect of increased punsihments

Tell me more about how this simple principle of yours is working for China and the Muslim world, and how it worked for us during Prohibition.

I'm afraid I'll have to report this incoherent shitposting to the Emniyet, TEM.

Not all nonviolent crimes are the same, though. To say that they are is ignorant

Is this supposed to be some weird non sequitur to try to move back to our philosophical disagreements over globalism, or what? This is incoherent even by Parkus's standards.

smh, maybe because some people aren't the brightest and continue to break such laws that are extremely enforced. Where I am, seat belt laws aren't enforced because nobody nor the police care. Therefore, society supports not wearing seatbelt which affects the government (law enforcers) to not be as hard.

Same thing for the Prohibition. If I recall, it wasnt even really that well enforced because why? Society as a whole supported drinking alcohol, influencing those who were supposed to enforce such prohibition

Parkus makes very coherent arguments, I would appreciate it if you did not slander a friend like that without him here to refute your baseless insult.

In this case, society "supports" pretty much all crimes. We have the death penalty and life in prison for murder and rape, which are decently well enforced, yet they still happen, so clearly society supports them.

This argument is dumb.

I just don't know why foreigners became part of the conversation. :p Did you think I unironically was suggesting DHS extrajudicially detain everyone who doesn't wear their seatbelt? If so I'm worried, someone is losing his touch.

Tell me a current law that is well enforced but a good portion of people still commit and get punished.

So any time I post anything now, your move is "bring up strawmen or ancient history in incoherent non sequiturs"?

It's unconventional, but an interesting move. :p

Whenever TEM is losing an argument or even is just bored, he likes to throw up random strawmen to try and bait people into changing the subject. :p
