To be honest it was the same from the copy on page 8. I have little idea how discord works nor presently part of RWDT on it, but am working on gaining an understanding with it from TEM.

Well, thread-lingo is hardly exclusive to the RWDT, and there were no crackdowns on aspects like their drinking game in entire threads past. Furthermore it's not meant so much as a topic as I guess making people feel welcome? If it was a step too far I can buy that, but I think the general notion is that it feels a bit heavy handed Blaat.

I get removing the failed link if it is such a thing, but is it against any rules to link out of site material that relates to the thread?

I enjoy stale threads as well. The RWDT has always been far more relaxed and less serious than other similar threads. Even the British Politics Thread is no 100% all of the time. And we still do a pretty good job of discussing right-wing philosophy, economic views, history, etc rather well. It may not always be in-depth analysis but since when has that ever been a requirement? Then of course we usually have breaks in between when we are just goofing off since most of us here are either friends or at least on friendly terms. It's simply not in the nature of this place to be 100% serious all of the time. It'd be one thing if an entire megathread went by without any serious conversations but that simply isn't the case. Moderation keeps expecting this place to be a debate club when it isn't as it is more like a gentleman's club; a very, very lax one in terms of standards but nonetheless that is the nature of these megathreads and its inhabitants. Perhaps it is time that moderation finally understand that. It'd go a long way in reducing the conflicts between moderation and the reich-wingers of the RWDT.

Also the discord has done wonders in reducing the amount of stuff moderation complains about and it's far more simple to just keep it in the OP rather than having people ask for it constantly.
