Here's a question if God wanted us to have no race then why did he make some people white, some black, some Asian, some Pacific Islander, some Hispanic, and some Arab/middle eastern, and some Indian as in India? I don't feel like the world as it is right now is ready for race mixing maybe in the future but not now. I am white I feel like my race is better then others. It's just like with countries some people say America is better others say Russia, or Germany is better. It all depends on who you ask. And like I said I'm proud of my race I also passed down my knowledge of my race and heritage to my daughters one who's now in college the other in her junior year in highschool, they both know that pride in ones race doesn't have to mean what some people thinks it means.

Vitamin D deficiency is a pretty significant factor since it causes miscarriage.

Or are you asking why it took so long after they left Africa for Europeans to get lighter, because we don't fully know the answer to that. It's possible that they were getting sufficient vitamin D from their diet to not create a selection pressure.

It's possible that Europeans owe their light skin to the fact that wheat is a pretty lousy staple crop.

Vitamin D.

The further from the equator, the greater the amount of atmosphere the sun's radiation has to pass through.

If you live at the equator, you can get your Vitamin D from a small duration of radiation traveling through your skin, which means your skin can be a lot darker to prevent sun damage. Indeed, darker is actually better.

If you live far from the equator, you need much more sun exposure to get your Vitamin D, and the radiation is less direct - so lighter skin is advantageous.

Humans are actually extremely inbred for a species. Our "races" are based upon slight differences while other species have much more variation among them. Take dogs for example a small scrawny chihuahua is somehow the same species as a German Shepard. So our concept of having races really isn't applicable in the sense that there is not enough diversity in the human genome for this to apply.

Here's another question: What if God didn't create humans at all? Honestly "race mixing" is fine. Date whoever you want. One race isn't better than another. You can be proud of your race but thinking it's better is pretty foolish to me.
