However, then, you're testing God.

Which is... bad?

I mean, it seems to me like you're testing Odin. And at least he's got a track record.

Yeah. Deuteronomy 16:6.

I suspect you mean Deuteronomy 6:16. That seems more relevant.

But let's be realistic, if we're going to avoid skepticism, we should base it on track record.

Jehovah God said that he would destroy Satan, sin, and wicked people.

Odin said he would destroy Ice Giants and stop a wolf eating the sun.

Only one of these guys has a track record for success.

Yeah, 6:16. Got my numbers confused.

Personally, fear of eternal damnation is not my reason for belief in the bible however how can people be so dismissive of infinite loss compared to finite gains? Even though you may not accept the bible, does it not worry you slightly?

If you can conceive some religious idea, and when it is possible to believe in it, is a religion. Perhaps there are tens of thousands of those religions out there, or, theoretically, infinite. The only difference between the finite number and the infinite number is whether the religion is actually conceived or not. Wouldn't it be silly to somehow worry about an idea, in this case probably Christianity, which was haphazardly conceived with, possibly, a complete lack of deliberation?

Or, we can rejoice in a extremely thin, or negligible possibility of ethereal bliss after our life. What is the difference in the terms of credibility?
