Because some of us are able to look beyond petty racial ideology and see that every person has something to contribute to humanity and that immortality may very well enable even more people to contribute?

Some sort of question like "Do you think this will pan out and we'll really be able to live forever?" "Is this a good thing?" Maybe something about the effect on social progress and the environment if people stop aging and dying of old age. Your opinions. Stuff like that.

Back on topic! How would the faiths/religions/etc of the world come to terms with immortality in humanity being something as simple as taking your daily vitamins? Would they embrace it? Recoil from it?

All major religions basically say that our lives in the material plane are inferior to those in the spiritual (whether it is heaven, achieving nirvana, etc). So, immortality in this life will not go over well. They will all oppose it.
