Why is there so much anti-intellectualism and appeals to romantic sentiments and glorification of emotion in many popular works of fiction?

monarchy system of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth | The corporatist/technocratic philosophy of Henri de Saint-Simon | The communitarian
ideological framework of the Singaporean People's Action Party | "New Deal"-style societal regimentation | Kantian/Mohist/Stoic philosophy

What about the anti-intellectualism and appeals to romantic sentiments?

NOTE: Romantic as in Romanticism not Romantic as in Romance.

*looks up Romanticism*

I presume it's because we don't like to think about how little agency we have in the world as a whole and focus more on the agency we have within our tiny part of it?

How is romanticism anti-intellectualism?

I think it's more just the two of them existing together from what he's saying.

Personally, it looks more like appeals to emotion and romanticism=anti-intellectualism.

Eh, that's just my POV.

Well, he mentioned that he's talking about romanticism in the sense of the movement, which does sort of lend itself to romanticism in how most people see it, but probably not entirely.
