Plenty of religious leaders have been scholars too.
Well, I know that meteorology requires an understanding of those two, however, and correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think meteorologists need to know the square roots of giant numbers to predict the weather. Chenistry makes sense, but I just hate it a bunch. Physics is something I love, though, so I could be a physicist.
As for the religious leaders being scholars, I already knew that, which is why St. Albert the Great is my confirmation saint. He is the patron saint of sciences. Though, he didn't work in meteorology. Just chemistry, biology, physics, and a few other things.

All physics programs, require heavy doses of chemistry and math.

Thermodynamics doesn't apply to weather?
