I agree. School should teach life skills for a job more, not academics, especially if the person is going to work as a laborer, rather than a job needing academics and diploma

But I don't think I'll need to find the square root of 1,317 in order to predict weather. Hell, I don't even need to know the gas laws to predict weather, or to storm chase
