Probably because one side is a democratic republic which respects the human rights of its people and the other side is a state run by terrorists and/or their supporters and has no respect for human rights.

I very much doubt that Israel has any interest in a horde of islamonutbags taking over Syria and conducting purges of everything within or near the country's borders, including Israel, of anyone who isn't their kind of Muslim. The post where this all started, procured by Kawther, sounds to me to contain an unlikely assertion.
