Actually, America's pretty lax on travel and immigration compared to other countries.

Eh, it depends, most of the negativity of it comes from conservatives and populists who: 1. Don't like things and people that aren't 'Murican!, or B. Think immigrants are the reason the lower classes are losing their jobs (When in reality, automation and sending jobs out of the country are to blame).

Hypothetically speaking, if evidence arised that he colluded with Russian intelligence with the hacking events in any way, or received payments from the Russian interests for preferential treatment, he would (and should be) very quickly be impeached. There is currently a probe into the matter, actually. Whether or not this probe comes up with anything severe is still open, however. That said, if true it may be far more than enough to get rid of him.
