No, I'm just acknowledging the fact that a lot of Western rhetoric on North Korea is ignorant, misleading, unhelpful and downright irresponsible. That does not mean I support Kim Jong Un (it takes a lot more than them being the target of bad propaganda for me to support any tyrant anywhere).

Both Roberts and Kennedy are not amused with the administration's argument that lying about trivialities on immigration forms is grounds for deportation. It seems that as it stands, the ruling will likely be at worst a 5-2 rebuke of the administration bizarre argument (With Chief Justice Roberts not needing to break a tie, obviously). The administration's argument is considered pretty damn ridiculous.

Actually they do seem amused by it. Roberts told a story about how he drove over the speed limit once ("beyond the statute of limitations") to essential mock the prosecution's case ... well all I know what the coverage that was on PBS Newshour, I happened to watch that yesterday.

When the judge is amused that is not a good sign!

But serious question: WTF is Trump doing picking a winnable battle and unwinnable aftermath (not to mention decades of instability in East Asia plus a humanitarian crisis that makes the Middle East today a figment of overheated imaginations -- and that's what I see as the best-case scenario) against North Korea?

because he thinks that talking tough will get him what he wants.

Their logic makes no God damn sense is what's happening.

Trump's logic is standing right on a landmine because this argument is ridiculous. The thing she lied on was not even a huge deal, to be honest, hence the "immaterial". It's not like she misrepresented herself. She represented herself with full awareness of her situation.

Now, while her husband might have served in the Serbian army, that's no reason to deport her. In a sense, Trump merely wants to win this court case, and, considering is his first big case before SCOTUS, he does want to seem like a winner at wrangling power from SCOTUS, which is part of why people elected him for.

However, I am not sure how does his logic, passed through the Justice Department and the Solicitor General, make any sort of sense whatsoever.

Because habits. When he fucks up and a business goes bankrupt he never had to face up to the consequences. If Seoul gets demolished because of his dementia-addled brain he'll do anything to avoid having to own up to getting a foreign city fucked up.
