Are you anti-Anglo? Do you depose the WASP inheritance? Pax Americae civis, we must remind the euros of their vassal status.

Edit: To retain on-topic-status, I'm pro whatever party is subservient to the American Imperial Interest.

Besides, thanks to the magic of EU freedom of movement, there is nothing that keeps German citizens from moving back into their "ancestral homelands" in present-day Poland, if they so wish.

The Poles, as usual, are in the way.

How so?
Just because they happen to live in there doesn't hinder you from bying a small plot of land and building your own house or just be lazy and buy one of their houses rightaway. Some paperwork maybe but probably not that much more than in Germany.

But really, who here would like to live in Poland or that shitty hell hole called Eastern Prussia? I'd prefer Bohemia over that.

That said, I'd like Germany to join the rest of the West in approving gay marriage. That sole issue aside, I don't know too much about the German socio-political issues of the day. (Have those 1 million immigrants strained public services or led to an economic boom, for example.)

Neither really. The public services are pretty much back to normal and the economic boom also isn't really there yet.
Then again, we've also got a crapton of these people leaving.

WTF

HAHAHAHA looks like Germany 2017 'Jamaica coalition' will be an ideological predecessor for Syfenq. Islamic democracy + libertarian conservatism + green politics

While this constellation has been tested at state level, it would be uncharted territory at the national level, and a sign that the party, formed in the 1980s out of a pacifist and environmentalist protest movement, has gone mainstream.

It would also represent an important win for the party’s duo of top candidates, Katrin Göring-Eckhardt and Cem Özdemir.

The two moderates have made no secret of their ambition to get the party back into power in a coalition government. The Greens were junior partners to Gerhard Schröder’s Social Democrats in a “Red-Green” coalition from 1998 to 2005.

But ahead of the election, many observers doubted whether the Greens’ leftist base would accept their strategy, which has become an existential question for the party.

I thought the Greens are considered Center in the German political spectrum.

I still can't believe that Brazil lost to Germany 1:7. Copy and paste onto your sig if you were alive when this happened.

This account is the predecessor state of Jamilkhuze and Syfenq. This is how they're different, and this is why they exist.

 No.

While Göring-Eckardt is a good bit more centrist than the Greens have been in ages (and she's arguably "the face of the party", right now), and is probably the reason why "Jamaica" is talked about as anything else than joke, the Greens are still clearly to the left of the SPD.

Dead-center on our spectrum would be the FDP. SPD is (...marginally) center-left, Greens are moderate left, Die Linke far left. CDU center-right, CSU moderate right, AfD far right.

For me, personally, Die Linke and the Greens are the only parties I can stomach voting for, and I've voted for both in previous elections. Will most likely go with Die Linke again, this time.

As an American observer, it seems to me that the European integration project has failed to develop mechanisms of democratic renewal that are robust enough to dislodge the nomenklatura of neoliberal technocrats that's metastasised around its apparatus and attempts to reform it will never be successful. "Europe" as such is doomed and so is any movement that hitches its political horse to the European identity. If the left doesn't come to terms with this now, it won't have the legitimacy to counter national-populism in the next decade, so eurosceptic leftists like FI and Die Linke seem like the best choice to support at the moment.

Relevant for those speaking German.

(Short summary for those whon't: Winfried Kretschmann, the only Green prime minister, was secretly filmed during the Green party conference, ranting about the party leftwing's latest glorious decision to demand a ban on petrol-driven cars in Germany and their complete replacement with electric cars by 2030. Kretschmann is pretty much saying that the rest of the party shouldn't complaint about scoring 6 or 7 % in the polls with demands like that, and that they shouldn't pester him with their bullshit.)

Nah, I think it's important that Kretschmann stays Green. If he (and others like him) withdrew, only the SJW loonies would remain and the party would sink into 2-3 % oblivion. And I do think we need a solid Green party with 5-10 % on the federal level.

We need a solid CDU with 90-100% on the federal level. Nothing less is deserving of Merkel´s power.
Federal Elections should be like the elections for CDU chairmanship:
Ja, Angela Merkel or Merkel will result in a vote for her.
Abstentions will not be counted at all.
Nein is a vote against her.

Also the coalition treaty between the CDU and the FDP has gotten 100% from the CDU delegates. That´s me CDU cadres.

The NPD is losing its financial support by the state due to it directly targeting the liberal and democratic foundation of this country.
Can´t wait for right wingers to spin this around and say that this is a dictatorial coup by Merkel, but since the AfD is the new bad boy in the house nobody gives a crap. Which is the reason why the NPD was not banned.

They´ve tried three times - I think - to ban the NPD and it was struck down every time. In the last case the court argued, that they´re to irrelevant and don´t have any political force behind them, let alone funds. I remember a bit about people attending events that were organized by the NP, but left once they got wind of that and/or NPD dudes showing up with signs or whatever.
Furthermore, by banning the NPD, their 2% share of the vote would probably go the AfD. ;)
