Maybe an example you will comprehend is mastectomy performed on men with gynaecomastia, or the laser beard removal some women with PCOS require. Aren't they mutilating their body, of their own free will, for no reason beyond the "I'd be better that way"? Both are purely aesthetic, and natural occurrences.
