if it is nonexistant it should bounce back. if it is owned by someone you sent it to the wrong mailbox.

Well, it didn't bounce back, so perhaps her actual email is a misspelled version of her name, which is cruel.

Assuming it's a university email address, perhaps the last letter just got chopped off because of character limits.

I hate it when it's too big to fit.

It's a weird tradition we have in the Factbooks forum, I'm realising, wherein nations put up the fact that they have an election going on and allow other nations to vote on it.

I remember when I did that and essentially had a candidate being voted for I didn't want to win, because... sense, I guess, so I just kept increasing the percentage that the local vote mattered over the foreign vote and so I made myself kinda miserable in the process.

But yeah, it just seems kind of weird honestly.

I kind of see that as a legitimate thing. You know who you want to win, but, if you open the decision to fellow NSers, you might have to figure out what to do next when the person you don't want to win actually wins. Could make an interesting RP.

Yeah, it does.

Except I didn't fucking do it that way (Though I noticed that I mostly divided the votes up into half on one side, half on the other, and then rigged it to high hell, which, upon looking through the threads I made on this (Which all feel like basically rubbish and simply a way of occupying my time with something that felt vaguely game-like, so... no wonder I wanted to rig it so badly), had one of the users, roleplaying as a fascistic nation, commenting on how the fascist leaning party gained more votes in the "international" vote and how either I should just fucking make a one party state or not open the elections up to everyone... and I basically started rambling something about my then political beliefs and the like, thus proving to his future self six years later how much of an idiot he was or more how insulated he was because most of his life, in retrospect, seemed to consist of either studying or getting away from the studying)

More positively, I actually had the thought about how this could be done to maybe simulate a real election: Maybe there could be an NS nation that involved some weird manner of electing their government by having a representative from a nation with a large enough diaspora to ensure some level of representation no matter the population, along with the votes cast by the diaspora itself and about how they might vote depending on where they live, what the relations between the two nations are like and what they'd do for them, etc.

Like, that could be kinda interesting and also complicated, so therefore out of the realm of the forum.

I'd be more interested to see how an entire legislature could be elected via mass poll in FaNI

Well, there's already the NS-run nation in F7, I believe, so it would be kinda redundant. :P

Haha, elections. Now there's an idea! I model my NS nations after that one country I constnatly see in my dreams. Krinanjistan, or summat like that. It's ran by a shadow government that has a lazy nostalgia for communism.

I had a dream once that I was little and my father had to get paperwork done at a government office located somewhere in the remote countryside. But, when we arrived, the building was adorned with boken/boarded up windows and completly delapidated interior full of garbage and debris. Only one lonely staff worker on the inside... and he had absolutely no idea how to do the paperwork for my father. The government required my father to get the paperwork done there, or face penalties of law.

Soo... uhh... i generally avoid RPing an election... I don't think it'd be very fun.

Curious. :P

I actually have had a few thoughts for the backdrops of stories before (One time it was a vaguely liberal, extremely wealthy type of nation that had some love hate relationship with homosexuality or something and that mattered because of the central character's story), but never really returning to them a lot.

No internet yesterday as we were switching providers and the one stopped first thing in the morning and the second didn't activate until late at night. Partner suggested a quest to "outside", which was primarily a city environment. Explored my partner's old university and the very difficult "IKEA" dungeon. Unfortunately there were some speed debuffs in action around the "soft furnishings" zone. On the positive side, I just about managed to complete a very difficult unmarked quest, the "connect four" challenge for "spot the white person" in the campus zone.

Pretty successful all in all, but I wouldn't recommend the "outside" quest to anything other than experienced players as it took a big chunk out of my action points for the rest of the day.
