Well, it has Ben Affleck in it! :lol:

More seriously, I believe it's a British-American film.

Ah. Good to know.

Yup.

Kind of came after the exam, too; looked up the movies that I could watch, saw that and saw that it had a screening yesterday, went "Hmmmmmmm yeah okay let's go for that", took the train, looked it up again and realised there probably wouldn't be a good seat left, then looked it up again and saw that there was a screening today.

And thus that's how I did the do.

Also, the heart pounding's gone now, so.... yay.

Ben Affleck? Hmm, I can't remember what films he was in. >.<;

Heh, I guess it is. Looks like a slice of life film. Those are quite enjoyable if they play their notes right.

British films... 'Brazil' is a fun one. A bit strange tho.

The Americans stole Manchester from Britain and put it by the Atlantic to piss off the British.

Yup, it's a slice of life tragedy.

And I'm mostly going because of the generally good critical reception, really. Like, there's actually been YouTube critics I follow that have been less than kind towards the child actors, but I just kind of want to see the movie myself to be fair, so... that was the impetus behind it.

And yeah, that's one of them; really I think most any film made by someone coming from Monty Python is probably gonna be quite weird one way or another. :P

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

And... well, it's not a part of the whole Monty Python 'canon', in a sense of the word, but the director was a part of the troupe, mostly as the animator for parts of Monty Python's Flying Circus, hence the connection.

Feels like this nation's got a tendency to shift between Civil Rights Lovefest and Inoffensive Centrist Democracy a lot...

I shall now decree it "The Inoffensive Civil Rights Democracy or Ardrentt"!

Or maybe "The Civil Centrist Lovefest of Ardrentt", I dunno.

Think the best film I've seen with that kinda thing going on would be 'Sundays & Cybele'. Then again, they were speaking french... soooo...
