And, no, that hopefully won't happen that they'll be back in the house after college. They should start looking at jobs after college during their last semester, ideally, or since the beginning of their senior year. If they do get jobs while in college I might take away their pay once, as I said on the RMB, just to show them that money isn't the thing they should focus on and just because they have a job they shouldn't feel too cocky about themselves having pocket change and think they can do what they want because of it. I can still reserve the right to threaten and kick them out of the house if they do start getting too cocky with money, as well, but I'd rather not resort to the ol' "I'll kick you out and you won't be shit out there, you and I know it" tactic.

Heh, cultural norms at work here, I think. I've said it to Ethel before that there's a lot of similarities between the Jewish stereotype and actual Irish family settings, my poor single friends back north are having to date the "oh yeah, I still live at home" types like it's a normal thing at 35.

If people are still living at home at 35, and it's not because they have sick relatives that they need to look after, something is wrong.

I'm willing to bet that the LA Galaxy would beat some random team from the National League.

But British pro basketball seems to be at the same sort of level as American high school basketball. I was watching San Jose State at Boise State and it was so much better

Yea, living at home at 35 should not be normal at all.

It's one of those things that you just don't fathom doing even as an 18 year old going to college.

Well, there is something to be said about someone even in their 30s working and living with their parents because, say, they're disabled or something.

But that's the thing, you can't be momma's boy/daddy's girl past your 30s and not have at least a job and some extenuating circumstance why you can't move like your parents being disabled and out of principle (and lack of finances to put them in a nursing home) you've decided to live with them to take care of them.

As someone coming from a different household, I'd say after college is sufficient to still "live at home" in a sense.

By "in a sense" I mean still being under parental authority if you're going to college and they're covering it.
