It's not much, but in all honesty, it feels good to help advocacy initiatives for animal welfare. I got involved in feral cats, red panda and slow loris advocacy and it makes me feel good, like I am helping do something meaningful, even if it's limited.

Well, there's a spectrum of offense that's present, ranging from tiny to significant and from 100% understandable to 100% batshit insane; not sure about the former detail for your case, but I can only figure that for the latter range of where that lies, it would rank at perhaps 80% to 90% insane.
