You can probably quote whole scenes from his movies verbatim.

Oh no no no I'm not giving her pimples. I'm giving her a great makeover (which I'm not actually sure if I can do), and then we're going so stand side-by-side in the mirror so she can look at her pretty face AND MY HANDSOME FEATURES THAT ARE NOW COVERED IN PIMPLES HEY LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEE

Heh, that's the way to do it. I'm sure she'll feel bad for what she's done and give better makeover. |3

Or not buy cheap af make up when she has to do make up for a dozen actors every night.![]()
It's honestly not totally her fault though. I'm just being salty because I have pimples and I have to go onstage in 10 hours.

I suppose that would get expensiv.
You do plays and such, yes? What it about, this time?

Theater makeup is very expensive.
Yeah. But I'm not very willing to divulge details because yadda yadda privacy yadda yadda knowing the play might be an easy way to track me down yadda yadda CONSPIRACY THEORIES.
But yeah I do plays. I work mornings and do theater at night. It's tiring but I'm able to do what I love at night (which pays little) and work in the day (which pays a lot).

Welp, that explains the pimples then. :V
Heh, I see.
I suppose that's a good thing then. Think the onyl play I've seen in my life was les miserables, not too long ago. Kinda odd you guys don't get paid much tho.

Investments in the arts, as much as we consume it, don't yield much returns, sad to say.

It is. Especially here in the Philippines, arts-based occupations (writing, acting, design work, etc.) pay either very little or way too much - think celebrities and A-list actors vs. indie/theater actors, museum curators vs. independent designers (not really a similar assessment, but you get my drift), wedding/fashion photographers vs. photojournalists, television/film writers vs. theater writers/novelists/poets/journalists. My whole college life, I was discouraged from doing arts full time because, unless I've got a very wealthy family that can support me, I'm just going to end up bankrupt.

Same thing happened to me, essentially, and I was advised to go into architecture instead because I'd expressed some desire towards it and hey, at least it's kind of in demand....?
I dunno. Just, because the course I took had that as an elective thing, and because of the stress of going through the module specific to architecture, I chose engineering, so here I am.
But yeah, I think the whole issue of it kind of stems from it being a pyramid in terms of the pay (And one with no minimum floor so that instead of dragging yourself through mud, you're at least walking on cheap concrete)

Exactly. Because people who work in the arts work on a project-by-project basis, theater actors can spend literally a whole day in rehearsals and they still won't get any extra pay for spending 12+ hours in the theater.

Pretty much, yeah...
I think that's also why the unemployment numbers are so terrible? Between both architects and actors, really; either side, being in the arts as you said, works project by project, which I guess also makes construction projects unstable but the larger difference is that construction can happen all the fucking time (Or I guess at least in Singapore, it is), whereas it's not all the time that people need to watch a play or a movie; hell, if nothing else, a lot of people are playing computer games or watching stuff on the Internet instead.
Hell, I'm one of those people who tends to watch videos online and sat through listening in on a video for two hours as opposed to tending to get myself to a theatre to watch a movie. (The video was of a standup comic, to be fair, but yeah...)
