In fact, I don't like the idea of having a pet. It unnerves me at an instinctual level. Is that normal?

A matter of perception, really.

Sorry, but The Room is rated R. As a matter of principle, I do not view R-rated films, even though the MPAA Film Ratings system is arbitrary and heavily prone to the capricious whims and biases of the Ratings Board.

Also, I have far too many friends to fit inside my living room. I don't want to have to invite the entire 10th Grade class of [NAME OF SCHOOL CENSORED].

(Also, as a side note, faking your entire personality for social ease works wonders. :) )

Fine. Here is the most beautiful house.

Some Ramblings

Postby The Supreme Magnificent High Swaglord » Sat Feb 25, 2017 9:48 pm

I was pacing around the kitchen, and I have been pondering my life. I desperately need to vent. I apologize in advance to Ethel, Hurde, and Galla, for having to put up with me and my... erm... antics.

As you may know, I am bound by duty and ethics to the wants and needs and opinions of my fellow people. After all, that is one of the core tenets of the "Golden Rule", and as you may know, my ethical system is based on the "Golden Rule". There is just one small problem...
I don't like other people.
I don't know why, but I thoroughly despise most other people. I find them repulsive and wrong. For some reason, my brain lumps them together as "the other", and I view them as... well... my inferiors. I also associate "the other" with those who bullied me when I was young, and I hate myself for having to fake my emotions and my personality to get by in the dreary, irrational world of "the other". I don't want to be a cringey, edgy misanthrope, but my desires to isolate myself and live authentically and happily conflict with my ethical obligations to others, society, and the Common Good. It has been bothering me for a while, and I need resolution.

You don't have to respond, I just needed to vent. I feel slightly better now.

I just took a deep breath, and I calmly ask, what now?

That means all Christianity is Orthodox if you converted the Vatican City.

A lot of the other civilizations, such as France, Spain, England, and a lot of city states are still Catholic.

Russia is still eastern Orthodox, if it hasn't been conquered yet - I think Moscow and St. Petersburg have been conquered by an unmet civ. If I get up there and capture the two cities, I'll liberate them and return them to Russia.

Yea, Byzantium is absurdly OP for religious campaigns, including their extra religious attribute which, if you combine both Pagodas and Tithes, plus one of the more powerful Pantheon beliefs like Desert Folklore, and with the social branches that give out specific acceleration bonuses to religion and architecture, it can make for a very, very OP advanced religion by mid- to late game.

I tend to play as Byzantium in Civ 5 if I can because of their religious boosts.

The problem with Byzantium is that they don't have any innate boosts to the speed they accumulate faith points at, so if, say, Ethiopia or the Celts are in the game, you can get beaten to the good religious perks. And as a mid-game focused civ, you can always be in trouble if you start next to the Zulus or the goddamned Huns.

In other news, the unfinished fanfic I read yesterday is still stuck in my head, goddamnit. Probably precisely because it was unfinished. Bleh. Clearly I need some finished but merely mediocre fanfic about sad anime girls to overwrite it.

Deus Vult?

DEUS VULT!

Playing as America in Civ 5, I notice a pattern in my playthroughs: Religious Settlements, going Catholic, and practically spreading the "Word of the Lord!" so effectively my entire continent has at least one Catholic in every city...and then I finish the game with a Science Victory anyway.

Also, they're cremating my grandpa's remains and flying the ashes to Manila for the funeral.
