Though technically I haven't recently, I'm stuck with slow potato internet until the fibre gets connected. Looking forward to that!

In the interim I've been reading fanfic, some of which is really good. Including one I really wasn't expecting - you may or may not have heard of Katawa Shoujo, which is a visual novel or dating sim or something in which you play Hisao, a boy who suffers a heart attack while attempting to confess to a girl in his class, and gets sent to a school for people with disabilities where he dates various girls with disabilities. Anyway, Mean Time To Breakdown is an AU story in which it's the girl, Iwanako, who has the heart attack, and it's really very good. Never read the original visual novel or whatever it is, but this writer is good! I found it by putting "best fanfic" into Google and going through a Reddit thread of nominations.

I'd have to disagree, based solely on the AU fanfic - Emi nearly killed Iwanako and sent her to the hospital! Right now I'd have to say that Hanako's best girl. But the fanfic (which seemed to be aiming for some sort of Hanako/Iwanako romance) ends unfinished, alas. There may be better girls.

It's annoying when fanfic ends abruptly. At least Dungeon Keeper Ami updates sometimes.

I really need to get back to my own writing before my courage to continue ossifies and dies, too. Not that I have readers as such, but I enjoy it while I'm writing it, and the point to it is that I'm writing it, not that it has to be good. Or so I tell myself to distract the part of my mind that insists it has to be perfect.
