China is not going to disrupt their own power grid but in the interim before they can take the majority if not all of their coal plants offline, China is supposedly working on rolling out at least 100 nuclear power plants. Most other countries are too afraid of pursuing nuclear to the extent that they could be doing.

Its too politically sensitive in China to do that - provincial administration was squealing over central gov't directives (many provinces rely on coal), and the CCP gets very concerned when faced with mass strike action. Hence, when they tried to create domestic curbs on coal production, they were forced to back down.

Also putting capitalist and democracy in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

But China still spied US for their technology and secrets. They also have strict laws, such as making gaming addicts join the military, and instituted strict punishment, and other dubious stuffs. They also don't recognize Taiwan as independent nation

Also, what do you mean by that?

Just because they have strict laws and strict punishment doesn't mean they're communist, look at Saudi Arabia or Iran. And of course they're not going to recognise Taiwan as an independent nation because Taiwan is not.

What I mean is that some of the most authoritarian regimes in history have been capitalist.

Go with Thorium, along with the most updated reactor designs. The radiation will be above natural levels for only 100 years as opposed to 10,000. Most existing nuclear power plants are 1960s or 1970s designs because the nuclear industry has been neglected and starved of reinvestment capital.

Nuclear is the safest form of power.

Switching to nuclear would save lives. Sadly only China is really doing it.
We should follow suit.

China is working on build large amounts of hydro, nuclear and other clean energy sources. But it is a bit late, it will take a while, and they already screwed up so much.

Still better late than never.

Good on China, although hardly a jem themselves the North Korean government serves as nothing more than a lingering stain of a by gone era. One marked by authoritarian regimes and barbarity.

Actually solar and wind kill more. Wind turbines can be dangerous. They can fall over or drop a blade of death from the sky. Deaths from solar are mostly from installation and maintenance people falling off roofs.

We do, but we need nuclear as well. Safest, clean, least amount of land used, highest capacity factor. Nuclear is simply the best.
