Something about cosplayers not actually believing they're superheroes, no doubt.

Like seriously, it's fine for you to dress up as your favorite creature I'm fine with it, but when it gets a bit out of hand then there's a problem
To be fair, you can say that about most things in life. Drink, poker, football, Harry Potter, politics and so on. If you do something in moderation it's okay, but when it gets out of hand - trouble!

Grown-up peoples wearing animal suits and imitating them as part of a sexual fetish is something I would definitely call decadent.
If it's the use of the term itself that you find weird, it might simply come from the fact that I'm thinking of the meaning the French term "décadent" carry but in the context I guess another term I could have used that would have been more fitting is "degenerate" tho it would have had a way more judgemental connotation that I'm not necessarily intending.Alvecia wrote:Some people think anything other than post-marital, missionary, baby-making sex is decadent.
Hé, can you really blame me for loving vanilla and having an impregnation fetish? Both are way healthier than furry one are. :^)

If furry is a sexual fetish, then I'm not a furry. Hell, I go to furry conventions, I wear ears and a tail, I'm making a fursuit, I buy furry art and occasionally draw it. But of course, because I don't engage in sexual activity while wearing ears, or buy furry porn, I can't be a furry, right?
Yeah, sure, I can understand your use of the word decadent to describe a sexual fetish. But what you are describing is not the furry fandom, so calling the fandom decadent in that sense does not fit.

But that one episode of CSI said it was a sexual thing. Are you saying TV would lie to us?

This joke could have almost been "funny" (at least compared to what you have accustomed us to) if 1) I was still watching T.V for anything but the news and 2) this show actually got broadcasted on French television.
Sadly, neither are true which means that it fall flat, as usual.
