Ok, so here's my take on this.

Khogali is an absolute fucking moron. The idea that melanin has anything to do with mental acuity is absurd. Darker skin doesn't inherently make you smarter. The only thing that comes inherently with darker skin is, of course, darker skin. How anyone could defend this statement, if anyone even is, is beyond me. It's not only factually inaccurate but extremely racist. If it was a white person who had PUBLICLY expressed racial supremacist beliefs they would be COMPLETELY disenfranchised. Minorities can be racist. The prejudice + power bullshit that people isn't even consistent. Is it impossible for a white person to be racist in a majority non-white country? Of course not. Anyone can be racist at any time, anywhere. And Khogali is a prime example. I really can't express how much this rustles my jimmies.

Recessive genes ARE NOT INHERENTLY DEFECTS. Do you have blue eyes? You must be defective. Blonde? Defective. Recessive genes can be the causes of defects- but not all of them are. Also, white skin was a part of natural evolution as humans moved farther to the north and south of the equator, where it was less necessary for humans to have high concentrations of melanin in their skin since the sun provides less energy at more extreme latitude, not to mention that there are other sources of nutrients in those climates.
