Hans Rosling has died

Sad to hear that Hans Rosling has died from pancreatic cancer. For those that don't know him, he was a statistician and a founder of the Gapminder Foundation which aims to achieve sustainable global development using statistics to understand what is needed. Totally at odds to the current Putin/Trump/Brexit world of lies and fake news, he sought to use facts to improve policy decisions.

That's a shame. I saw a presentation he did about global poverty that was really interesting and informative.

Mike Ilitch, the owner of the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings and founder of Little Caesar's died at the age of 87. Although not really on the same day, the news seemed to get out on the same day though.

Really though, it's sad to hear that. We need more people like him around, not less. Hope his friends and family are doing okay.
