The HuffPo was a shitty excuse for a news media outlet before the Garland incident. This just makes me more convinced that there's absolutely no integrity there among any of the so called "journalists".

Apparently being spoiled as a child isn't shitty parenting, it's now a mental illness. But only if it relates to women.

You just want it for your own devilishly sheepish purposes.

It's interesting, and not a new concept. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Michigan’s Extracorporeal Circulation Research Laboratory have both been working on it. You can read a bit about it here: An extra-uterine system to physiologically support the extreme premature lamb.

Surprisingly, the uproar regarding it has nothing to do with the artificial womb itself and the "Matrix" type paranoia some people feel towards it. Rather, some laypersons are pissed off because it potentially makes a fetus viable before the magical "cutoff date" for abortion. It also cracks open the "men's rights" door, whereby an unwanted fetus could be housed in that artificial environment if the man is willing to be a father to it. Does this then inflict injustice upon the woman from which the fetus comes? Does he have a right to fight for "fetal ownership" once she's decided to abort it?

I snicker into my sleeve at this point, for shameful reasons I'll keep to myself, and divest myself from the arguments.

Artificial wombs being the first of many nails in the coffin of feminism? Sounds awesome.

I'd much prefer if we never touch artificial wombs. If only in he interests of the long term. (Very long term)

Artificial wombs remove the need for sex. Sex is one of the main points of contention with regards to feminism.

Why? There would be no need for abortions, because we can create babies that are genetically perfect. No inheritable conditions, no hereditary cancers, mental disabilities etc.

Why you ask? There is a reason I said 'in interest of the long term'; if humanity were to use artificial wombs, there is the possibility that we could become reliant upon them to reproduce. It would take quite a time for such a dependency to fester, nevertheless I'd prefer to not tempt fate. Yes I may be quite paranoid.

I do, but sex for pleasure is a waste of time. We have genitalia for a reason.

Too late now.

Sex outside of procreation is a waste of time purely because nothing comes of it. Sex for procreation actually achieves something, assuming of course the male or female are fertile or don't have issues with their reproductive organs. That something is of course the continuation of the genetic material. Sex outside of procreation is thus just an excuse to release sexual tension and we already have masturbation for that.

That's a joke, right?
I really hope it's a joke, otherwise it's a truly reality-fled argument.

It's absolutely clear that when, and if, artificial wombs will come then they'll be reserved to women who have very difficult pregnancies and various health problems preventing a good pregnancy.

You sure about that? In the event that artificial wombs become available, they would likely be used as an alternative to abortion. While difficulties during pregnancy is one of the reasons for abortion, it isn't the main one. As a side note, this could potentially make it easier for same sex couples to have kids.

I have to confess that I never thought about such aspect.
As you already know, I support the idea of transitions fully paid by an universal healthcare system, and I think that after such transitions the right word that should be used is "women", not even "transwomen".
So I guess it wouldn't be a problem...
