When shit hits the fan the vulnerable always suffer, and few are more vulnerable than a six year-old. That doesn't mean the world is ending. I find the refusal of those in power to do anything that might help protect the vulnerable to be far more disheartening than the fact that senseless violence exists.

Yes, but kids are vulnerable and innocent. Things we consider evil like ISIS, the Nazi's or the Communists always tried to convert kids into their cause. But the fact now that we're just killing them, our own kind, without any purpose or cause or justification should be taken as how low our morality has dipped.

As far as government not doing anything. As long as the NRA thinks they're protecting the "vulnerable" (themselves), I'd rather put my bet on Trump's hair being authentic than America passing some real sort of gun control.
