Without wanting to derail, but while Cicero had an outsized notion of his role in the conspiracy, he is not the only source for Catiline's actions. The most complete account of the Conspiracy comes from Sallust and it was hard for Cicerco to have have fabricated that account.

This is simply too goddamn stupid to be true, but on the other hand it is true that it fits the whole narrative.

I think Napi's point only matters in the context of total war. The nature of limited wars (so, most current engagements), however allows most civilian activity to continue unimpeded. In turn, this would allow for peaceful protests without active damage to the war effort, though this would not be the case for a WWII level event.

Not for all police forces no. Not every city is like Chicago or Baltimore.

There were protests during WW2. Roosevelt didn't crack down on them.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.

He should have. Put patriotic Americans in internment camps simply because their grandparents were from Japan. A fair number proved themselves in the war effort. But he allowed peaceniks to roam free. Disgusting.

Yes it was. Poorly carried out. Stood by as law and order collapsed until it was too late. Tried keeping the Sunni and Shia areas pretty centralized together. Mistakes were made.

Of course, FDR also conducted a massive propaganda effort during this war, one that is still felt today. This minimised the effect those protests had. If the protests had been large enough to damage the war effort, believe me, they would have been cracked down upon.

Moreover, FDR made a decision, but this does not make it a right or wrong decision - your point is an observation, not a counter. I could easily observe that Stalin would likely have crushed such protests, but it doesn't make it right decision.

No, he didn't.

ISIS isn't even that effective. The VA is more dangerous.

Being opposed to Kriegsbereitheit is not only unpatriotic, it probably also makes you a race traitor.

Yes, but IS was also militarily defeated until Obama withdrew. It only gained power in the Syria chaos and the context of US withdrawal and subsequent Iraqi divisions. The context of its actual creation is not as important as the context that allowed it gain to power.
