Yes some people said some mean things but there are always assholes in this situations either because they assume he wont really drown(or jump when its a jumper).
Yes I totally agree. It's unfortunate what happened but there was nothing that could really be done
With a life vest it might be worthwhile to jump even if you were young and used to the cold and had people ready to pull you back up. But yeah it was a bad place to be.
