Yes Trump's request is silly cause it's clear he wanted his parade to look more "Badass"... and it's down right immature... but parades don't cause dictatorships.

The biggest reason the Military doesn't parade heavy equipment around is practical ones.

You can also add Italy, Spain and probably a bunch of other European democracies in there as well. Australia also holds military parades every ANZAC Day.

Or perhaps it's a nice way for Americans to see their military when they aren't invading some two-bit Middle Eastern country for no apparent reason. After all, men and women look pretty damn good in a ceremonial military uniform.

If it's OK for France, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Finland, and a bunch of other democratic states (including Australia) to have regular military parades, why not the United States?

Of course, it would be good to mention how your source is the only source that has Trump pulling an approval higher than 50%. Medium is 41.5%, with the lower-end estimates hanging around 32%.

Three questions before we all face the Beginning of the End.

1. What do you hope Donald Trump will (and won't) do as president of the USA?

2. What do you think Donald Trump will (and won't) do as president of the USA?

3. What do you fear Donald Trump will (and won't) do as president of the USA?

It depends on what the nature of the parade is. For things like Veterans Day it's a showing of gratitude, like with ANZAC day. Bastille Day is a celebration of liberty and freedom, honouring the men and women who helped achieve that goal. That's different from the show of force Trump apparently wants it to be, judging from his interviews. If the parades are of a nature that is compatible with a modern democracy, I have no beef with it.

In the end, the averages were pretty accurate. The state ones themselves were what sucked.

And if we went off of Rasmussen, Trump would have won by like 5% probably (I don't remember what he had at the end), which did not happen.

I think its pretty safe to say his approval rating is negative. Not sure it would have been any different under Clinton.

Well when Obama won, lots of people made jokes about some silly Texans wanting to secede. Then trump won and california secession was a thing people advocated for. Some bonehead lawmaker (i forget who off the top of my head) was an idiot and called Obama a liar during one his first addresses, people went off about "you have to respect the office of the presidency regardless of your personal views" now there are I forget how many dems skipping the inauguration. When obama won there were dumb people who burned effigy's of him some protests etc etc, when trump won the election there were riots/burning effigies etc etc.

Its hilarious how for 8 years so many people on the left wanted to try and act like they had some sort of high ground and the people on the right were just sore losers etc etc, now that the roles are reversed its those same people on the left doing exactly what they were criticizing people on the right about doing a few years ago. Its both hilarious and sad at the same time.

Republicans did the same thing under Bush. "Respect the president". Everyone is just hypocritical. Nothing new.

I'd say the best hypocrisy is a large chunk of the demographic that voted for Trump in the first place.

But still, just everyone is hypocritical. Nothing new.

Dont know, I dont speak for the right. I dont think either side has the high ground, they're both equally scummy in my opinion.

Exactly. It exposed how Mitch McConnell is willing to complain about the other side being willing to use his own tactics against him. It exposed Republican evangelical voters as being willing to vote for a crude, irreligious, serial adulterer of a New York liberal as long as he had someone on his team who hates the gays and wants to criminalize abortion.
