Gorsuch is not as terrible a pick as I was anticipating, at least its not Pryor.

As for the Cabinet, I cannot believe Price, Sessions and DeVos are all gettign through. They are all terrible picks for their respective posts, and the whining the GOP is making for the Dems pointing this out is stunning.

Once they get a majority again, the Dems need to make what the GOP did this year illegal, or at least create a way to stop it. It was entirely ridiculous and anyone who defends it cannot claim to really care about constitutional duty.

Two Republicans have announced they will oppose her in the final vote, Susan Collins from Maine and Lisa Murkowski from Alaska. There only needs to be one more to break ranks. While they have been embattled trying to sell her for more than she is, I feel she's a losing battle in the long run and they know it.

Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Had the Democrats done it, Republicans would scream blue fucking murder. It was an unprecedented and unwarranted purely-political maneuver and to pretend otherwise is grossly disingenuous.

Perhaps, but the Senate still has every right to not consider a nominee. It was certainly not unprecedented. Even Joe Biden advocated doing the same thing to one of Bush's nominees.

While true, there is only so much damage I am willing to allow for political purposes. Devos would be an unmitigated disaster for education, and that is horrendously unfair to the future generation. They only get one education, after all.

My major fear with those two Republicans is that they are sacrificial lambs to the populace, to indicate there is some sanity to the Republicans. When people try to say that Republicans are hyper-partisan, they can point to the two who voted against her and say "Nah-ah, look at these two token Repubicans!"
