Scots and English developed together. The former is just less influenced from the Normans than the latter.

I would like to take this moment to profess my utter contempt for the use of the prefix "Anglo-" as a proper noun, mostly because it is a grammatical abomination but also because it seems largely to be used by foreigners as a vaguely derogatory term, and occasionally by Americans, presumably with the intention of dragging we loyal and freeborn Englishmen down to their level. If you can't be bothered to type out "English," "British," "English-speaking" or "Anglophone" dependent on the context, don't bother typing anything at all.
