My first 'doc' told me "heres the meds, pick one". When I asked for his opinion, he told me it didnt matter what he thought. He pushed Abilify and Latuda brcause they were the newest and had good clinical trials. My mistake.

Yeah because obviously training in medical school means fucking nothing apparently. Why bother even learning anything when you can just take the opinion of others in spite of being an expert (Or even expert-in-training)?

To be fair that's not *entirely* true. The patent system is kinda twisted and is partly to blame. A patent only lasts so long but has to be filled well before the product is actually finished, which is usually 10 to 15 years later iirc, which means there are about 10 to 5 years left to earn back the money spent of development and clinical trials + make a decent profit margin.

It's also why, once the patent runs out, the generic medications are typically cheaper. They didn't have to spend more than a decade and a bunch of funds to develop the drug.

Yeah. If youre not psychotic, and they try to put you on those, get a different opinion. They have nasty withdrawal, can induce psychotic symptoms in people without psychosis, and cause temporary to permanent dystonic, parkonsinism, and extra-pyramidol disorders.

Yeah... I've met some people with the misconception that people take meds they don't need because the meds are fun. Psychiatric meds are not fun if you're taking ones you don't need.

Wellbutrin helped me a lot, but once I was more stable and didn't need it, I was happy to get off it because it made me nauseous.

Seems very weird that that's the case when copyright was, at very least, 28 years and now basically extended to "Lifetime + However many years it's been since Walt Disney died"

This also contributes to pharmaceutical companies hiding unfavourable data about their drugs.

Bipolar disorder does not always require lifelong medication. It varies from case to case.

Copyright and patents are two different kinds of protection and apply to different things.

Patents apply to technical inventions while copyright to "creations" (artwork, etc.).

Parents last 20 years after filing while copyright is lifetime + 70 years, iirc.

New Zealand is 12 hours ahead. A few Pacific Islands are already in 2017 but we're the first country that matters that sees the New Year in. Midday tomorrow for us will be midnight for most of Europe.

Its genetic and a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes mood cycling from severe depression to mania where impulsive behaviour and reason goes out the window. It also gets worse, and Id either end up dead or in jail.

Ah, alright then.

Clarification is appreciated towards why the difference is so wide. I guess.

It still feels flimsy since a lot of what exists in modern culture exists based, in some manner or another, on past culture, much like how most of the technical innovations today come from technical innovations of the past, but ahhhhhhh Mickey Mouse.

Weird odd how it honestly feels like New Zealand should be closer to Australia in my mind, so I went "GMT +12:00?"

Yup.

Still don't make sense, I live four hours behind that- oh wait, daylight time, I noticed that on the Wikipedia page.

So.... there you go.
