It makes no difference. I had my sim die from a lotto machine. Another starve to death because of a chair. One sat herself on fire while taking a shower. The way I see it when I do such things...

I only played the Sims once when I was around 13. My friend "helped" me out by making one character really bad at cooking, and providing no doors outside. He just made him cook on and on until a fire started, and burned everyone inside.

I like playing City Planner better than playing God.
