I don't know why cis girls can get away with features that would blow passing for a trans girl. I think if I removed this forehead for a flatter one, I'd have no issue. But then I'm in for a world of physical pain.

It's nice to say that someone who comes out as trans was always trans, and it's important to a lot of trans people and I'm sure it's true for them, but I've never felt it was accurate for me.

See, the popular conception of a trans woman is someone who knows that they're a woman from an early age, despite being assigned a male identity. And, because I didn't identify as a woman, I felt that I couldn't be trans, despite wanting to be a woman and experiencing gender dysphoria.

So in a way that conception of the transgender identity actually held me back. Personally - and this applies of course only to myself, I'm not forcing my definition on you - I wasn't trans until I realised I was trans. I used to be a man, and now I'm in the process of becoming a woman.

Indeed, I recall mine having taken years to figure out what was grinding me to bits.

Fortunately, I found something with my weight loss... or the lack of something. The shoulders were pushed out by a copious amount of fat to look wider than the bones or muscle actually are. But it doesn't change the forehead issue or my curly hair making take far longer to reach the same length that straighter hair would.

I think that's an issue in general; we only ever really think about things in singular concepts and those concepts, and the specifics of parts of it (Or hell, even just the single element itself as opposed to the general concept it's within), can make us do a double take in imagining ourselves as such and that other people in general seem to have no problems really fitting into that definition, so why can't I?

Stuff like that. I'm glad to hear that you've broken out of that and realised that that sense of identity of being transgender that has been formed is bunk and am willing to push forward and start making steps towards yourself as opposed to letting the conception of that identity hold you back from doing it. :)
Now mostly a politik discuss account.
