Like, I know it shouldn't matter; it's more the sense of being in a country where LGBT rights isn't even fully explored as a concept, along with being so fully absorbed by a fandom that is centered on a show with predominantly female characters... But no parents.

Strangely, there's an artist I watch and like who HAS gay parents and I don't mind there, so I don't know why the apprehension exists in real life other than "I don't know of any real life gay parents because that would NOT fly here."

To be fair, my mother came out when I was seventeen. So now I have two stepmothers and five stepsisters.

Your family sounds amazing. My mom married my step mom as she always said gender didn't matter at the end of the day as long as someone loved and cared for my brother as strongly if not more than she did she was always an advocate for him. They're both so destroyed after they lost him this year.

Lucky you, I have two little sisters I haven't met yet and a step-mother who more or less dropped out of my life.

I don't understand what your point is.

Neither do I, honestly. Not fully.

General point is that it's unfamiliar to me, I guess. Like, in real life.

Like I said, I don't fully know why the reaction exists somewhat of apprehension.

Because you're not surrounded by it, that's why.

Not that I am either as a Latino living in a Latino community, but you know, it's not weird for me to hear about LGBT families because I literally hear about it every day and I am in the U.S., where the mainstream culture tends to lean more towards acceptance and just like "you do you bruh".

Then again, my family is also like that, so *shrug*

My nine year old little brother's class got a pair of pet crayfish, showed them a video about how the species mates, and then yelled at him for noticing that their own pair were starting to get frisky and excitedly screaming, "LOOK EVERYONE, THEY'RE HAVING SEX!!!" Not to be lewd or funny, just as a matter of fact, pointing out what they taught him to look out for in the first place.

Like, damn, if you didn't want the kids to talk about it, why did you teach it? He's just applying what he learned.

I couldn't care, family is family, I've told the story of my gay uncle before, and as a result it matters little to me who people love, when one of my friends came out she was shocked by my lack of a reaction, I don't judge my friends by who they love, they're my friend and that's all that matters.

I couldn't care about LGBT families, because it's not the LGBT part that's important it's the family part. It's a shame some people can't see that, eh, but that's them and their insecurities.

I have only one rule when it comes to families:

As long as your family members are not assholes to mine, we're cool.

Other than that, I really couldn't care if they all do their own stuff, no matter how weird it is.

Its how all hellspawn come to be. We just poof.y lil bro was a complete accident. I was suppose to be the last child, and they tied my mum's tubes. Few years later, she was preggers with the lil bro. He was the miracle child because its how they found my mum's cervical cancer. Once he was born, they treated it and tada, she's still here to this day. Had he not been an accident, mum wouldn't be here.

My mom kinda isn't because:

1 - She's a Baptist.
2 - She is Mexican, so you know, heavy anti-LGBT and very settled on their gender roles.
