Fr the Philippines has had the most positive gym experiences I've ever had, the second anyone struggles with a heavy lift there's always a hype bro waiting in the wings to egg you on

Just finished binge watching Maria Clara at Ibarra on Netflix.

One thing that I can't stop thinking about is how the ilustrados could walk around with full coats and ties in the tropical heat without feeling extremely uncomfortable. Or is it just because global warming wasn't a thing back then?

There's also the joke that the average Filipino can withstand heat far better; we have real-life anecdotes about people drinking hot coffee and wearing hoodies in the middle of the summer heat (30 degrees Celsius on average!). We also have the occasional meme about teasing Westerners for feeling hot in temperatures we consider normal.
