Because there's tons of other better places you can visit in the Philippines.

Maybe it's just because I've lived most of my life near Manila, but the entire place absolutely bores me. There's nothing interesting about it, except perhaps the few cultural and tourist spots scattered here and there.

Also, almost everything about Manila is bad. The traffic situation, the pollution, the air quality... everything that makes an urban area bad, Manila has it all.

Took me nearly three hours to get home from work last Friday night. Three kilometers. It took me three hours to get three kilometers. Literally would have been faster had I walked home.

Also, almost everything about Manila is bad. The traffic situation, the pollution, the air quality... everything that makes an urban area bad, Manila has it all.

I mean, I come from the provinces (hick hick) and so Manila's more of an experience for me. I gotta say, I had a lot of bad perceptions about living in the capital, but I'm surprised a lot of my assumptions were wrong.

Except the traffic. YOU CAN NEVER ESCAPE THE TRAFFIC.

Don't know what it's like now, but back then it was a long snaky and narrow road hugging mountainsides overlooking steep gorges and signs that warn of rockslides. And then you see a Rabbit Bus pass on the other side.
