also, anyone think sal panelo would actually take public transport without his own coterie of guards and media, as the public (i among their number) wish?

i mean if high government officials actually suffer the daily indignity of being squished in public transport like the average manila commuter, things will go a lot speedier

or maybe sal ends up like my dad did
in any case, a canary in them thar coal mines is only gonna be a good thing

"Walang transport crsis" is the modern equivalent of "let them eat cake."

(Yes, I know, she probably didn't actually say that, but I watch Oversimplified a little too much.)

80% of my female friends are cat addicts, so yes, more often than not.

Because there's tons of other better places you can visit in the Philippines.

Maybe it's just because I've lived most of my life near Manila, but the entire place absolutely bores me. There's nothing interesting about it, except perhaps the few cultural and tourist spots scattered here and there.

Also, almost everything about Manila is bad. The traffic situation, the pollution, the air quality... everything that makes an urban area bad, Manila has it all.

Took me nearly three hours to get home from work last Friday night. Three kilometers. It took me three hours to get three kilometers. Literally would have been faster had I walked home.

I mean, I come from the provinces (hick hick) and so Manila's more of an experience for me. I gotta say, I had a lot of bad perceptions about living in the capital, but I'm surprised a lot of my assumptions were wrong.

Except the traffic. YOU CAN NEVER ESCAPE THE TRAFFIC.

Long time ago took a trip with the family by car to Baguio.

Terrified the shit out of me.

Don't know what it's like now, but back then it was a long snaky and narrow road hugging mountainsides overlooking steep gorges and signs that warn of rockslides. And then you see a Rabbit Bus pass on the other side.

Lived there for a few years as a middle schooler. Left just as the People Power Revolution gave Marcos the boot.
