I don't like it one bit, but there are probably more than a couple of professors who applaud the massacres of revolutionary Catalonia, France and Russia, and I don't really see this as any worse.

It's a tough balance of promoting the academic freedom to share any opinion, while still making sure professors are taking their position's responsibility seriously. Can really influence students negatively and make the school look poor.
