George Ciccariello should be charged with hate speech.

While the professor has a right to free speech, Drexel university can and should drop its association with Ciccariello.

As an advocate of white genocide myself, I am angered that Ciccariello only supports abolishing the white race ironically.

Shit like this drove me to initially distance myself from the left. Their complete impotence against the self-described "alt-right" drove me to monarchism.

But it's not really - that's more of an ad hoc excuse. This is just being a contrarian edgelord.

Sure, the statement was unavoidable. I don't think anyone disputes that this was an unfortunate move by him. But that's beside the point.

You mean avoidable right? And that's definitely not besides the point.

Again, I very much doubt that, if it was spun the right way.

Except he clearly made no effort to spin it the right way in this case.

How is mocking racist edgelords being an edgelord?

Er, yes, avoidable. And it is beside the point. Whether or not he had good "PR" on this is irrelevant to anyone but himself. And I must say he had good responses to the racist hounding and to the university afterwards.

Calling for white genocide, then praising the massacre and rape of white families in Haiti, is fairly edgy I'd say.

Whether or not he had good "PR" on this is irrelevant to anyone but himself.

It's relevant to the university, as it reflects incredibly poorly on the institutions that hired him.

An expert is someone who knows better than to advocate for genocide. Also, you haven't substantiated that this professor was trolling the alt-right. Linking me something referencing a conspiracy isn't evidence that this is what the professor intended when he made the Twitter posts.

So again, prove that the professor was trolling the alt-right.

Haha, very funny, I'm from a social-democratic background.

I agree with it being a conspiracy theory, but damn man... Atleast they could've tried something neutral. It's like calling ableism a blatant conspiracy theory on Wikipedia and citing Breitbart and Infowars.

I think it's a little funny that this is the first I've seen about this statement, but I've been seeing articles all morning about some stupid joke Richard Hammond (a guy who made a career out of telling stupid jokes while driving cars) made about gay people and ice cream. Clearly the media has their priorities straight :p

Self-cannibalizing implies family fire so your advice sounds contradictory.
I assume you mean cannibalism in the marketing sense of the term though.

your souce wrote:White genocide is a white nationalist conspiracy theory that mass immigration, integration, miscegenation, low fertility rates and abortion are being promoted in predominantly white countries to deliberately turn them minority-white and hence cause white people to become extinct through forced assimilation.

Huh, that doesn't include mass murder torture or rape.

When a normal, regular person reads the news, and sees it reported that only conservative/right wing news sources/blogs are opposed to the professors tweets - does this help or hurt right wingers? Does this help or hurt liberals and left wingers?

You mean the handy excuse someone makes when they're caught out and need to make something up? So if I said "I wished Hitler killed more Slavs" and said that my comments were making fun of Russian and Slavic nationalist's claims about genocide of Russians/insert other Slavic ethnic group here, would that make my comments acceptable? No they would not.

Merioc doesn't disagree with what was literallysaid so just summing up the exchange then calling BS wouldn't convince him of anything.

Here's something better: How is it satirizing the conspiracy theories?
