If you can ban a symbol, it doesn't need to be banned. Naziism is weak as hell in our societies which is why their symbols are all banned. In China, which is arguably a nazi country, people dress as nazis for their weddings.

I wouldn't say that. I would argue it is banned because of the stigma alone. Naziism isn't weak, but sure as hell ain't large.

Relativism is a thing. The notion that such opinions are "fucked up" only stem from the liberal political atmosphere and its standards currently in place.

Naziism is just a defeated foreign enemy that no one really adhered to in our countries even when it was serious. It's like banning Ba'athi party symbols (which is why swastikas aren't banned in the US or UK).

Eh, if you look at it like that. There is some more radical centrism popping up, though, and the alt-right. Not Nazis, per say, but are easily becoming the more extreme side of American politics.

Nazi swastika is not the same as Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism swastika. The targets of these laws are the Nazi swastika.

However, beacuse the Nazis are bunch of assholes, the swastika is so unpopular that these groups have mostly no problem ditching the swastika.

Also, Brazil has it in law that you can't "To manufacture, commercialize, distribute or transport symbols, emblems, ornaments, badges or advertisements that use the swastika or swastika, for the purpose of spreading Nazism"

tl;dr

No it isn't religious discrimination.

Yes, yes we should think in Absolutes now, because the "New Left" has polarized itself so heavily there is nothing left but absolutes; the times they are a changin' is applicable in this circumstance. Potentially rational thinking "old left" remnants like yourself are swiftly becoming the exception, not the rule.

Just allow for exceptions to the ban for religious purposes. If I'm not mistaken, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism all used it long before the Nazis. The only problem would be that many wouldn't understand it and see it as a Nazi symbol, but that's what education is for. If the people of Germany would like to keep a more selective Swastika ban that only encompasses usage as a Nazi symbol, then that's fine I guess.
