A. First and foremost, it wasn't their land to give, it was the British Empire's as they were the rightful owners, and B. The British spent a good while drawing a map that would make both the Palestinians and Jews happy, but seeing as how Arab countries love finding new ways to go to war, the Palestinians only have themselves to blame when they lost the conflict that they themselves started, twice.

Israel has offered to become a 2 party state and offered peace agreements multiple times, and Palestine instead decided to join with a terrorist organization (Hamas) that is hell bent on creating Islamic purity within the Middle East and North Africa (You can see their handiwork in Lebanon, one of the only secular countries in the Middle East). Can't say I feel much sympathy towards what the Palestinians are trying to do.
