As far as the Israelis are considered, it's over for the Jewish people if they lose their homeland again and the world allows for another genocide to occur. So why not go out with a bang? Hence Samson's inspiration. Willing to fall on the sword to bring everything else around him down. From their logic, if the Jewish people are not allowed to keep their homeland - then the rest of the world's nations are allowed to have one either. I can certainly see the logic.

Honestly, that kind of thinking makes me think that Israel should be destroyed as soon as possible. Fuck the two-state solution. We should probably glass them if that's the idea.

I can't blame the Israelis given their history and the reality for what it would mean for up to half of the Jewish population should their country fall. It's a genius deterrent and a way to ensure that everyone pays attention to that little speck of the world.

I was given to understand that the Samson option was the last resort if Israel was about to be destroyed and the West didn't offer 'enough' help, not what to do in the case of nuclear war.

I think you have some misconceptions about the power of nuclear weapons. Cancer and uninhabitable zones in the former countries are what you'd have to worry about if you weren't in one of the involved countries.

It's a little different, because most Israelis aren't religious. They view themselves as an ethno-state, not as a religious group, and then they persecute the Haredi for not buying into this notion (look up Israeli police attacking Haredi on youtube).
