It's a comparison, fam. You can love anything while acknowledging its faults, but it's never good to continually hold those faults over its head. Otherwise you're merely hurting yourself and them. Picking scabs without letting them heal, so to say.

...Yes, and many countries unfortunately have been perpetrators of slavery. We have stopped enslaving people. Many other countries have not. Heck, you can be arrested in this country for beating someone on the basis of their race. There are plenty countries where this is totally fine to do. Like in Afghanistan! I recommend you read Khaled Hosseini's "The Kite Runner", it's a good demonstration of racial conflict in the country.

Loved ones should be shamed for being hypocrites and liars. I am an American patriot, believe it or not, why else would I proudly proclaim my former affiliation with the military in my sig? What I want is to educate my fellow Americans on the evil nature of our oligarchy, not only against other nations, but our own populace.

A very large number of British people miss the days of the British Empire and are ignorant of all the colonial atrocities committed by them, so are the French about their imperialism in places such as Algeria. Even sides who lost, such as the Japanese and Italians, are ignorant of the crimes that their militaries committed in other countries.

My point isn't "These people do it, so it's okay for us to do it too." but that this could be thrown at just about any major world nation. You don't actually have a reason to support the US being pure evil, worse than every other state on the planet, the fact you're having to scrounge for other crimes essentially proves it.

How does that connect to anything I've said? I find that yes, the government has created, and continues to engineer our culture to benefit the oligarchy which I believe is Satanic. But, for your information I'm generally ambivalent about homosexuality, it's not important to me in the big picture.

My grandfather was also a vet, and Therm is also in the military, as are many people on this site. The United States is not an oligarchy, it is a democracy, and it is not evil. To declare something 'evil' is to show hatred for something. To declare that something is 'faulty' is to show concern but also a desire for true change. Furthermore, it is good to stand against hypocrisy and lying, but all of us are hypocrites and liars. All of us have a duty to work against that weakness in us, which causes us to be inconsistent and liars. To claim anything else is to be the ultimate liar.
